Basic Mechanics

A safe and ready to roll the city user is able to know the basic operation of your vehicle for the circumstances that may be faced in their travels, which is why we propose basic mechanics sessions in which participants learn and practice basic mechanics consisting of knowing the correct way to use your seat, handlebars, how to repair a flat tire, accommodate brakes, as well as placing the tires.

Objective:

To provide the necessary knowledge of mechanics for the resolution of everyday problems for the bicycle user.

Time: 30-45 minutes

Target group:

Males from 12 to 15 years old and females from 12 years old.

Spatial and material needs:

  • Tools: multi-tool (allen wrench set, Spanish wrench set or a "perico"), bicycle inner tube, patches, lighter, glue, chain oil. 

  • Shaded space for participants

Information:

General sequence of activities: Introduction and presentation of necessary tools, step by step introduction to the parts of the bicycle, seat and handlebar adjustment, tire change, tube patching and brake adjustment.
